Rainy season is very much awaiting weather after teasing summer. If we take proper precautions then we can enjoy this season with good health. Some common precautions that one should take in his/her daily routine include:
Never get wet during first shower of season because first rain contains acidic water which may harm to skin and hairs. Use light and loose apparels so body can be easily dried and also try to change wet clothes as early as possible. Don’t keep head wet otherwise you can suffer from common cold. Special precaution should be taken for neck folds, groin, underarms and different skin folds as these may get fungal infection easily. Occurrence of common cold, cough, fever and different viral infections are very high so take some immunomodulator like capsule Ozaup, Chyawanprash etc.
Normally in rainy season appetite will be variable so it should be managed by small and light meal. Leafy vegetables & tubers should be avoided because these may cause food poisoning or diarrhea. Always use pure water in this season because prevalence of water borne diseases like typhoid, jaundice etc. is very high. Use of boiled water is an easy option for all. According to Ayurveda, Vata is specially aggravated in rainy season so for pacifying vata,Vasti treatment should be done. Excessive exercise, sex activity and direct sun light exposure should be avoided. Old grains are good for daily use. Spicy, bitter food should be avoided as these may aggravate Vata. Use of honey with food items is a good option in rainy season.
