Basically my understanding of the phrase means that the country is extremely complex and diverse and is going to surprise you at every destination and give you unexpectedly good experiences. Well I can go on writing another 100 words, but they wouldn’t add any more value to my answer. Swachhta Pakhwada was planned to undertake cleanliness campaign at all tourist palaces surrounding area by officers and staff members of the Ministry of Tourism. The officers and staff members undertook and intensive cleanliness work in the approach road, surrounding area of entrance gate, parking area, in the Ticket counter surrounding area, the thirteen day’s work ended yielding the desired result.
How do you see the potential of tourism in your region western and central.?
Focus will be laid on projecting India as a safe, secure, and clean destination, and also on availability and accessibility of information. Internet is a good medium and a lot of travel arrangements can be done online. MoT recently launched a travel planning mobile app. The idea is to use modern technology to benefit travellers, and make things convenient for them. In order to promote the country as a safe tourist destination, the Ministry has launched a code of ethics under ‘Safe and Honorable Tourism’. With states like Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, and union territories like Daman & Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli coming under my purview, my responsibility is to project the entire region in totality and encourage states and union territories to participate in international and domestic travel trade events.
Some of the state governments now set up their own pavilion at international and domestic events. State tourism boards have a professional approach and launch their own campaigns. However, we welcome states to participate under the India tourism pavilion at these events.
As part of central financial assistance, MoT takes care of infrastructural projects and human resources. We support states in marketing and publicity.

As part of its marketing / publicity activities, the Ministry of Tourism brings out brochures, leaflets, maps, films, CDs, etc. on various topics. Each heading given below details the theme on an all India basis, based on availability of the respective products. In case of the destination folders, the leaflet / folder / brochure gives the information about the place or the destination with various facets of the facilities available, sight seeing around the place, important telephone numbers and the contact points of India tourism officers. Similarly, the films deal with the subject in its entirety covering all destinations of the country.
How is the ministry is dovelpoing and promoting tourism infrastrutre in the country .?
Augmentation of quality tourism infrastructure throughout the country is a key area of functioning of the Ministry. More than fifty percent of the Ministry’s expenditure on Plan schemes is incurred for development of quality tourism infrastructure at various tourist destinations and circuits in the States government is positive, proactive, and pro-tourism. Some of the things that the Ministry will focus on are facilitating the arrival of tourists in India, i.e. providing proper infrastructure at all places, airports, railway stations, and upgradation of facilities. The VoA scheme of the Indian government, which was launched in 2010, has become popular with tourists. Last year, 20,294 VoAs were issued as compared with 16,084 VoAs in 2012. This is a growth of 26.2 per cent.

The Ministry of India Tourism has announced a five-action plan to make India a better and safer country for foreign tourists by ensuring their safety. The Union Minister of Tourism has set up two Incredible India Helplines: one is 1800111363 for domestic tourists and the other is 1363 for international tourists. These helplines for tourists in India will soon be launched in 12 different international languages. Currently, the helplines are available in English and Hindi.
The Indian Tourism Ministry has developed a new ‘Code of Conduct’ for those who are directly or indirectly associated with the travel & tourism niche across the country. The ‘Code of Conduct’ is a set of guidelines regarding how to ensure safe tourism for women travellers with respect to their convenience, needs and basic rights like dignity and freedom. The ‘Code of Conduct’ is primarily meant to save tourists and travelers from any sort of exploitation, irrespective of gender and place.

We are also promoting India as a Medical Tourism destination since the country has state-of-the-art medical facilities, reputed healthcare professionals, and quality nursing facilities. India’s traditional healthcare therapies like Ayurveda and yoga, and allopathic treatments provide holistic wellness.
Moreover, we are looking at promoting Sustainable Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Wellness Tourism, Caravan Tourism, Rural Tourism, and Film Tourism. We want to promote the backwaters in Tarkarli, Maharashtra; the hills, mountains, and Western ghats.
