Recently you got awarded with ‘Man of the Year’ award by Junior Chamber International Marine Lines and also Forest Department got certificate from Limca Book of Records for registering the massive tree plantation of 2.81 crore on a single day all over Maharashtra please share us your feelings?
It was delighted to get coveted certificate and award on the same day. It was an honor of 6.52 lakh citizens, who extended active cooperation in the ambitious tree plantation program. The full form of FOREST is (Food, Oxygen, Rain, Energy, Soil and Tree). Human beings get oxygen only from trees and hence it is the duty of everybody to raise plantations. In fact, the target was set for 2 crore trees but the department received encouraging response and it planted over 2.81 crore saplings on that day. The Government has pledged to plant 50 crore trees during the next three years.
In your opinion how GST bill is helpful for Maharashtra?
The abolition of local taxes won’t affect Maharashtra, which is both a manufacturing and consuming state. Octroi is only levied in Mumbai but that doesn’t mean other districts, where Octroi was abolished in the early 1990s, are not doing well any more. Government would ensure Maharashtra doesn’t lose any revenue.

I was elected from Chandrapur Legislative Assembly Constituency with the vote difference of 55,000. It made record of largest vote Margin from Vidarbha. In 1999, I was made a minister in the Sena-BJP government. I served as the Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection Department during the Shiv Sena-BJP saffron alliance. You are State Cabinet Minister of Finance, Planning, and Forest Departments in the Government of Maharashtra, how are you juggling between multiple responsibilities?
There are more than 40 thousand staff members working under me, so they are handling everything very well. I am only taking important decisions for every department.
Please brief us about the finance and planning department and your future planning for each department?
We are planning to globalize our Maharashtra. We are planning to increase the manufacturing sector in Maharashtra.
Will Shivsena- BJP complete their ten¬ure of five years as we see there are lots of differences in both the parties? Please comment.
Not only for next 2-3 years but for next 25 years BJP-Shivsena tenure will be unconquerable. And you will see it in upcoming days.
Opposition always blames Modiji that he is only looking for big industrialist like Adani and Ambani. He is not working for poor and middle class. Please share your opinion on this?
Modiji doesn’t discriminate between rich and poor. He is from poor background. He came with many schemes for poor and middle class people, which will benefit for them. But it will take time to show its result. And he has planned many new schemes and programs for poor peoples.
MNS chief Mr. Raj Thackeray remarked that, “Modi needs an event every two months. He is still in love with Gujarat. He doesn’t look like the country’s PM. The BJP govern¬ment is busy with events only. No work has taken place,” What is your comment on it.
Oppositions have to say something bad about ruling party, so he did. Before elections he was praising Modiji but now he changed his mind. And we don’t pay attention to such thing, we carry on our work.
In your opinion, how PM’s “Make In India” will benefited to development of India?
Yes definitely, before 350 years, India’s contribution to world’s GDP was more than 25%. We used to be the most powerful nation in the world. But later British came and left us in the worst situation. So to brought back those golden days, our Prime Minister Shri. Naredra Modiji announced the Make In India scheme. Along with this he also announced, Zero Effect
and Zero Defect where everything manufactured in India will be of high quality and will not damage the environment. He also wishes that in near future all the weapons and equipment
used by Indian Defense force will be manufactured in India. We Indians should proud that we got such Prime Minister
who worship his work and considers himself as people’s worker.
In recent time terrorism is increasing rapidly in Kashmir, many of our brave soldiers are losing their life. Is it showing
the incapability of our government to prevent terrorism? Please share your view on it and what should be done to tackle terrorism in India.
Though Pakistan tries whatever they could to destroy India, they will never succeed in it. Because out of 45 Civilizations 44 are already eradicated and only Indian Civilization is the one who always stand tall against each and every calamity since thousands of years. So Pakistan can’t harm us. On regular basis our Government told Pakistan to stop such activities, still they are continuing the exportation of terrorism. And we all have seen in history that nation or kingdom who export terrorism have been eradicated from the World Map.
In your opinion how we are ready to fight against Terrorism?
Terrorism is the big problem in front of whole world and we are always ready to conquer it. We see only few terrorist activities but there are many terrorist activities happening around us but we can’t see it because our defense and Police force prevent those activities before it happens. Indian Defense and Police force is always in position to tackle with such unwanted activities.
There are rumors that CM of Maharashtra is immature and many Ministers and Bureaucrats are not obeying him, what is your view? Please Comment.
He never said such thing. And those who have spread such rumors are not mature. When Government passes some order then it’s bureaucrats duty to deliver it to public. He wishes that Government person should work like soldiers and farmers.
Is there any wish you want to fulfill in your Political career?
I want to see the day, when everyone will speak about Per Capita Happiness instead of Per Capita Income.
What will be your top five priorities if you got the chance to become CM of Maharashtra?
For my priorities I don’t have to become CM, Mr. Devendra Fadanvis can fulfill those priorities. And that priorities will be, Environment, Helping to poor, and my Maharashtra should inspire not only nation but the entire world by its developments in various sectors. And I think Mr. Fadanvis is the one who can do justice to this.
Who is your role model in Politics?
Thought and Ideology of BJP is my role model. BJP don’t work on politicians, it works on ideology. Many noted politicians like B. S. Yeddyurappa, Keshubhai Patel, Shankersinh Vaghela left the party but it doesn’t affected party because party workers are the cornerstone of BJP. Though people like us shines at big level the original stars are the party workers.
How do you spend your leisure time?
In leisure time I like to read books, watch films and dramas.
What suggestion would you like to give to your party workers and citizens through India Unbound?
I wanted to tell them that few politician and leaders are not only the one having responsible for nation’s growth. Everyone should worship their work, though it could be on small level. Do whatever you do for the sake of our Nation whole heartily and you will succeed in it. “Lehron se Dar Kar Nauka Paar Nahi Hoti… Koshish Karne Walo Ki Kabhi Haar Nahi Hoti.
